Hangover in Minsk is a female-fronted depressive post-black metal band hailing from Poland and Belarus. Their debut album, Party Is Over, dropped on April 16, 2025, just ahead of their first-ever live performance at Dark Easter Metal Meeting in Munich.
What might sound like a wild night out is, in truth, a deeply emotional journey. Party Is Over is a portrait of grief, disguised as a soundtrack for drinking. It explores the cycle of drowning sorrow in alcohol, chasing fleeting joy, and confronting the inevitable emotional crash.
The band began as a half-serious joke during a hungover van ride back from the same festival a year earlier. Too dazed to agree on what to listen to, members of Dymna Lotva ended up jokingly creating their own music instead. One year later, Hangover in Minsk took the stage at Dark Easter and played to a packed room.
Party Is Over features guest vocals from Déhá and Kim Carlsson. The cover art—a photo of a real glass heart shattered by a bullet—visually captures the album’s raw emotional tone.
