Southern California-based Bite Me Bambi delivers another taste of what’s to come from their upcoming EP, Eat This, set for release in early 2025. Stream their new song, “Girls Like You,” here: Girls Like You
On “Girls Like You,” surf guitar riffs build into a chantable, danceable chorus. Frontwoman Tahlena Chikami shares, “It’s basically about dating a girl who you become obsessed with,” adding, “I’ve been with that person before who’s bad news, but you can’t help yourself because they are so attractive and fun. However, you’re left asking, ‘Why did I even do any of this?’”

“I wanted the Girls Like You video to be fun and sexy. We’ve all been in those kinds of relationships. You know this person is bad news for you, but there is just something about them you can’t quit. I wanted the video to have that same kind of energy. As the chaos in the characters’ relationship builds, so does the chaos of the song. I think director Chris Graue did a great job of encapsulating that,” says Tahlena.
Alongside Tahlena, Bite Me Bambi’s core members include Mike Berault (keys), Ryan Brown (bass), Edgar Guadiana (sax), and Dan Evans (drums). The band previously teased this new era with tracks like “Girls of Summer” and “Bad Boyfriend,” and recently amped things up with the release of “Do The Damned” and its accompanying video. The Eat This EP showcases the band’s versatility, serving up a range of sounds from punk and its subgenres. Produced by GRAMMY® Award-winner Cameron Webb (Sum 41, Pennywise), the EP captures the band’s true creative vision. “For the first time, I feel like we aren’t editing ourselves. We’re making the music we want to make and sharing the message we want to share,” says Tahlena.
A limited-edition vinyl pre-order for Eat This is available now, with shipments starting in November 2024. Only 500 copies will be available, in pink marble and hot pink with black splatter. Be among the first to hear the new music—pre-order here: Bite Me Bambi Pre-Order.
Bite Me Bambi formed in 2019, and their 2020 debut, Hurry Up And Wait, produced fan favorites such as “Strippers on a Sunday,” “Crazy,” and “Hot Lava,” which has since garnered over 365K Spotify streams and 115K YouTube views. The late reggae legend Lee “Scratch” Perry remixed “Crazy” in his final collaboration, while Bite Me Bambi honored Perry by covering his song “Police & Thieves.” Both tracks were pressed onto a 7-inch vinyl with artwork by Shepard Fairey. Additionally, Lynval Golding of The Specials joined them on stage to perform “Gangsters.”
In November the band will be trekking across the country on The Spoonful of Ska Tour with Barstool Preachers. Tickets are available at Shows – My Store (bitemebambi.com)
