Beloved Salt Lake City ‘Partygrass’ Band PIXIE AND THE PARTYGRASS BOYS Announce Self-Titled Album on Nov 8

Beloved Salt Lake City ‘Partygrass’ Band Pixie and the Partygrass Boys Announce Self-Titled Album Out via Americana Vibes on November 8

The lead single “Wild and Free” is Available Now

Salt Lake City-based beloved purveyors of bluegrass, skiing, and silly outfits, Pixie and the Partygrass Boys have announced a new-self titled album, their second album to be released by Americana Vibes due out on November 8, 2024.

Hot off the heels of the success of their genre-defying cover album, The Chicken Coop, Vol. 1, the band delivers the same energy on the upcoming record with a carefully curated song selection that showcases every member’s talent through breathtaking solos, clever lyricism, and memorable arrangements. To celebrate, the group has released the first single off of the album entitled “Wild and Free.”

“Wild and Free” captures the restless spirit of a young musician yearning for the road during the COVID quarantine, blending influences of modern bluegrass stalwarts such as Billy Strings and The Infamous Stringdusters with a distinct ‘partygrass’ touch. The lyrics reflect the highs and lows of life on tour, celebrating the freedom of performing and the connection with fans, all while dreaming of a peaceful future.

“With the world shutting down came the canceling of all of our shows and the stalling of some hard won momentum,” says the band, “We had a wonderful spring and summer lined up, and it all evaporated in an instant.

“I found myself sitting alone with my guitar, pining for the excitement of the road and gratification of playing music for our fans, and this song pretty much wrote itself. The bands I was listening to at the time shine through the arrangement. You can hear Billy Strings in the lick and verse, The Infamous Stringdusters in the chorus, but the orchestral nature of the bridge belongs entirely to Partygrass.”

The band is headed into a fall touring schedule that include key plays at the Arvada Center for Arts and Humanities in Arvada, CO; CaveFest at The Caverns in Pelham, TN; Blue Ridge Jam in Asheville, NC; Moab Folk Festival in Moab UT; and Baja Wondergrass in El Sargento, Mexico.
