Guitarist Jed Becker says, “The narrator of this little tale hasn’t hit bottom yet…but he’s certainly close to it. If I was the woman he’s trying to lure into sharing the ‘helluva ride’ he’s on, I’d run the other way. This one features a great Everly Bros.-type double lead vocal from singer Kevin Lydon, and more of the take-no-prisoners power pop our fans have come to expect from us. Enjoy!”
This song was produced by Askold Buk and Becker– and was written by Jed Becker.
The basic tracks were cut at Salant Sound in Canarsie, Brooklyn, NYC.
With a winning combination of catchy hooks and jet fuel, JOY BUZZER has quickly moved up the ranks as one of New York’s premier power pop acts.
Inspired by bands such as Fountains of Wayne, XTC, Squeeze, Todd Rundgren and Badfinger, JOY BUZZER delivers an abundance of big-time melodies and blissful choruses.
Formed in 2021 by members of The Lord Calverts and the Doppel Gang, the band is led by songwriter/guitarist Jed Becker (also known for his work as composer and music director for the Nick Jr. series’ “Dora the Explorer” and “Go, Diego, Go!” among many others) with Kevin Lydon on lead vocals, KG Noble on guitar, Nick DeMatteo on bass and Mark Brotter on drums.
Recently signed to Wicked Cool Records, JOY BUZZER’s comes on the heels of the band’s singles “I Wanna Scream,” and “Judy Judy Judy.”
