Quick hit reviews

  • Captain America #5: More treading along in this issue. JMS is really slowed down the pacing of the book to a snails crawl and it’s starting to bring down my enjoyment. Again, the past story is more entertaining than the current day one. I’m hoping the next issue will land the plane and move on. Grade C.
  • Miguel O’Hara – Spider-Man: 2099 #1: I couldn’t tell you the last time I read a Spider-Man 2099 book and there’s a reason: I don’t care about the character much. Miguel teams with Blade to deal with a zombie apocalypse. I might continue on it if it’s a small week, but this wasn’t my type of book. Grade D.
  • Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1: Marc Spector/Steven Grant/Jake Lockley Moon Knight is dead and his team of vigilantes continue on in his mission. The story is mostly flashbacks told to a psychologist, but the big reveal is there is a new Moon Knight. It’s a solid book and I wasn’t too lost having not read anything of the previous series. It’s probably my book of the week; a solid start and something I’ll continue to read. Grade B+.

I’ll be back tomorrow with 2 weeks of DC books.
