Ransom and the Subset is an American alternative rock band based in Seattle WA. The musical project of songwriter RanDair Porter, Ransom and the Subset shines a fresh pop-rock sound driven by strong melodies and well-crafted arrangements. Together with infectious hooks, witty and insightful lyricism, Porter delivers a dynamic blend of power pop from decades past along with elements of modern rock.
The new release is the long overdue follow-up to their highly praised 2014 debut release “No Time to Lose”.
“Perfect Crimes” ups the songwriting, the music, and the performances including the recruitment of legendary accomplices who are no strangers to hit songs.

“Awesome pop writing and performance. Highly recommended for lovers of great pop. Clever, catchy, full of earworm hooks.” – VarenneProf
“Having been impressed by their ‘Perfect Crime’ single, I was extremely eager to dive into second single ‘Sara Kandi’. Once again it’s a real belter, and another tasty morsel of what to expect from forthcoming album ‘Perfect Crimes’ and it doesn’t disappoint in the slightest. I’ve already listened to this an awful lot of times and once again it’s an addictive slice of pop meets rock. Now you had a blissful sun blushed melody, Porter’s vocal tones were a literal breath of fresh air whilst those story telling lyrics had been perfectly penned.” – TheMusicIsMyRadar.com
