Blur drummer Dave Rowntree is excited to share a new video for his recent album track, “1000 Miles.”
The video was created by the Norfolk based animator/illustrator, Megan Yaxley.
The track is taken from Dave’s recently released solo debut album, Radio Songs, released to widespread critical acclaim last month. The album was produced by Leo Abrahams and arrives some thirty-two years after Blur released their debut album Leisure back in 1991.
Dave said “’1000 Miles’ is my favourite song on the album. It’s a love song to my girlfriend, and talks about how tough it is keeping a relationship alive when you spend so much time away from home.”
Radio Songs is released through Cooking Vinyl.
Dave and his live band previewed his new material with three UK live shows in late 2022 including a night at London’s Omeara and celebrated the album’s release day in January with a live performance and Q&A in-store at Rough Trade East.
Dave now returns to his drumming duties with Blur who have reunited for a series of huge live shows this Summer, including two nights at London’s Wembley Stadium.
