CARDINALS RE-ASSIGN LIBERATORE & PARKER; SPRING TRAINING CAMP ROSTER NOW STANDS AT 34
JUPITER, Fla., April 1, 2022 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced following today’s game that they have re-assigned left-handed pitcher Matthew Liberatore and right-handed pitcher Blake Parker to the minors.
Today’s moves reduces the Cardinals Spring Training camp roster to 34 players.

No surprises on either of these. Liberatore probably won’t see time with the Cardinals until late into the season, both to preserve his service time and to continue his development. He’s still the best pitching prospect in the system and should make an impact next season.
Parker could be in line for bullpen time down the line, but he’s just recently came to camp and probably needs a little more time to be ready for the season.
