Cardinal Minor League Report: 10/12/2016

Here are the results from the Arizona Fall League, along with those of the Venezuela League and the Mexican Prospect League.

The starter for the AFL yesterday was Austin Gomber.  Here’s what Baseball America had to say about him:

Austin Gomber, lhp, Cardinals. Gomber might get overshadowed in a system that includes pitching prospects such as Alex Reyes, Luke Weaver, Sandy Alcantara, Junior Fernandez, Jack Flaherty, Jake Woodford and others. But Gomber keeps producing despite average stuff and he showed great improvement in his curveball. On Wednesday, he pitched three scoreless innings and struck out five in Glendale’s win.

The AFL hitters:

Player Pos AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SB/CS BB Avg
Paul DeJong SS 4 0 0 0 0 0 0 0/0 0 .000
Carson Kelly DH 5 0 0 0 0 0 0 0/0 0 .250

The AFL pitchers:

And for Toner…the Tebow report.  Tim Tebow is still hitless in 2 games in the AFL; he did get on base with a walk.
