The Cardinals have sent their contingent of prospects to the Arizona Fall League – a league that houses some of the top prospects in baseball for a month after the season. Teams will send their prospects for multiple reasons: to see if a player is worth a 40-man roster spot, make up for time missed due to injury, or to showcase a player for a potential trade.
The Cardinals are aligned with the Glendale Desert Dogs, which also has prospects from the Chicago White Sox, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Washington Nationals. The team sent Harrison Bader (OF), Paul DeJong (3B), Austin Gomber (LHP), Carson Kelly (C), Corey Littrell (LHP), Ryan Sherriff (RHP), and Rowan Wick (RHP) this year, along with Pitching Coach Dernier Orozco.
